Casa Carolina is a spacious family house just 5 minutes walk from the popular, picturesque village of Tremolat in the heart of the Dordogne. Nearby the river curves through the famous 'Cingle de Tremolat' and into a deep water section, which during the summer months provides plenty of water activities. The area has an abundance of medieval towns and villages each with their own unique history. Sarlat with its narrow winding streets, picturesque merchant houses and medieval buildings steeped in culture and history is a must visit, as are Monpazier and Issigeac, and Limeuil , classified as one of the beautiful villages of France.
This region boasts the world renowned Bergerac appellation wine area, which although often overshadowed by the neighbouring Bordeaux region, has many fine wines which consistently win awards. Many of the vineyards offer free tastings and some ship to UK, Europe and USA.
The village of Tremolat is only 35 minutes by car from Bergerac airport, 2 hours from Bordeaux, Limoges and Brive-la-Gaillarde with flights from most of the UK's airports. It is also easily accessible from all of the western French ports, with the added benefit of 20% discount on Brittany Ferries if booked through Holiday France Direct.
Just a short walk from the house the village has 4 restaurants , a boulangerie, and a weekly market selling groceries, cooked meats, cheese, fruit and vegetables, and wine. Nearby are many more restaurants and Ferme Auberges.
The house has three double bedrooms, one twin bedded room, two bathrooms, two wcs (one separate), lounge, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, and utility room.
The entrance hall leads down to the dining room, which comfortably seats 8, with doors that open on to the terrace with its additional eating area and brick built BBQ. Further into the garden is the 9m x 4m swimming pool with roman steps leading into it. Poolside has 8 sun-loungers and parasols, and at the rear of the garden are further areas for relaxing .
At the rear of the garden is a badminton net and full size table tennis table. Adult bikes are also available. The entire garden is surrounded by hedges to provide privacy and the pool area is fenced to provide security for younger children.
Also on the ground floor is the fully fitted kitchen which has a full size electric fan oven with gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge freezer plus ample crockery, glasses and cutlery and a large selection of cookware, utensils and serving dishes. There is also a picnic rug and cold box. Next door is a large utility room with sink, additional fridge/freezer, full size washing machine and drying facilities. To make your stay easier we also provide some of the basic foodstuffs: tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, spices, condiments, plus cleaning materials, laundry soap, toilet rolls and hand soaps.
Leading from the hall is a double bedroom with 4’6” bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. Next door is a large bathroom with walk-in shower, basin and WC.
Upstairs leads to the lounge with doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the garden, pool and neighbouring fields. Large comfy leather sofas make this an ideal place to relax and contemplate the view or watch the flat screen TV with UK Freesat and DVD player. There is also WiFi, a selection of DVDs, plus family games and books.
Also on this floor are three further bedrooms: one double with 150cm bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables; one double with 140cm bed, wardrobes and bedside tables plus a vanity sink unit; and one twin-bedded (90cm) room with wardrobe and bedside tables. Adjacent to these bedrooms is another bathroom with walk-in shower and separate WC.
All bedding is provided as are house and pool towels. A full size cot with bedding, high chair and stair gate are also available.
